His Face

I would have loved to see the expression on the face of Jesus as He looked out over the excited crowd at the time He entered Jerusalem on the back of a donkey.
The people were thrilled that their salvation was in sight, and the city was in a joyous uproar.
But He knew that this same city's people would be baying for His blood within a very short time.
Did He smile at them, extending His wonderful grace even then: realising that they had no idea how things would go?
Was He serious, recognizing the nature of the moment?
Did He look sad, seeing their lostness?
Did He rejoice with them, knowing that the end of His destined journey was near its triumphant fulfillment?

I would love to have seen His face
