Invitation x 2

About that Invitation -
(If you haven't read the previous post you will need to, because this one continues from there) -

Its amazing how that one word has caused a seismic shift in perception.
Scripture stands: it is truth.
But it can be understood in many ways.
Someone once said: "Read it aloud because it forces you to interpret."
That made a lot of sense to me - after all, where you place the emphasis in a sentence can greatly change its meaning.

Example -
"COME to Me" = "Its your choice to stay where you are or not, but ......"
"Come TO Me" -="Don't run away from Me, you don't need to."
"Come to ME" = "I am the One you are longing for: you don't need to look any further."
The same three words, but the emphasis makes all the difference.

In the same way, the word "Invitation" is adjusting how I place the emphasis in understanding the word of God in the light of His heart.

It is so easy to get legalistic and not even realise it.
To begin to see the word as a book of "ought to's" for ourselves and others, with all the negatives that brings to the church and the world.

This invitation is re-saturating His word with His character and His heart towards us.
I am seeing so much more His open-armed, smiling desire that we join Him in His journey here.
He beckons us . . . "Come on, come with Me. . . "
It changes everything
Walking with Him was wonderful before
It sparkles now!

And to think I nearly didn't ask Him for the word because of my own fears!
